effective corporate governance

what is corporate governance?

The framework of rules and practices by which a board of directors ensures accountability, fairness, and transparency in a company's relationship with its all stakeholders (financiers, customers, management, employees, government, and the community).
The corporate governance framework consists of (1) explicit and implicit contracts between the company and the stakeholders for distribution of responsibilities, rights, and rewards, (2) procedures for reconciling the sometimes conflicting interests of stakeholders in accordance with their duties, privileges, and roles, and (3) procedures for proper supervision, control, and information-flows to serve as a system of checks-and-balances.

MATs and alliances

As networks of schools and providers become increasingly complex, the importance of effective corporate governance becomes increasingly important and can become increasingly challenging.
iEd offers a bespoke strategic and operational management model that will enable the leadership of an organisation or network to maintain an effective and on-going overview of responsibility for performance and accountability for improvement.
In this way, iEd builds the capacity of leaders to support themselves and encourages
more sharing of collective intelligence and good practice. School-to-school collaboration is supported to ensure excellence is shared throughout the local learning community or education system.

transformation agenda

The LIB meeting will review the 4MAT. The school or network may construct a performance calendar and consider a priority 4MAT theme or focus at each meeting. The LIB will consider progress with agreed priorities. It will review systems in place to ensure the identification and Mitigation of Risk.
The LIB will confirm a revised and validated 4MAT and this will be placed upon the secure platform.
As a clearly defined framework of accountability the LIB means that the performance of all schools in an organisation or authority can be monitored and the early signs of poor performance tackled in a timely and decisive way. The LIB will help to ensure that identified solutions and commissioned interventions will be efficient and effective.
